NSF Founders

Natekar Sports and Fitness (NSF) is a firm founded by a family of sportsmen who have represented India on the international platform in their respective sports and have a combined experience of over 100 years in the sporting industry as athletes, academy operation specialists, sport event organisers and now sports consultants. The founders are –

NANDU NATEKAR (1933-2021)


• Former Indian Badminton national champion, has won over 100 national and international titles for India.
• Recipient of the first ever Arjuna Award in 1961.
• Has won the National Championship 17 times (6 in singles, 6 in doubles, 5 in mixed doubles).
• First Indian to win an international badminton title (Malaysia 1956).
• Reached the last 8 of the All England Badminton Championships at the age of 21.
• Included amongst “The Greats” in a souvenir published by Malaysia during the Thomas Cup series, 1954-55.
• Voted the most popular sportsperson in India in 1961.

GAURAV NATEKAR


• Represented India at the Davis Cup from 1992-97 and was part of the team that reached the semi-finals in 1993.
• 7 time National Tennis Champion ( Singles and Doubles).
• Double gold medals each at the SAF Games in 1993, 1995 and 1997.
• Double gold medals at the Asian Games, Hiroshima, 1994 (team event and doubles with Leander Paes).
• Recipient of the Arjuna Award in 1996.
• Recipient of the Shiv Chhatrapati award for outstanding sportsperson of Maharashtra.
• Sports Influencer and Sports TV Commentator on National Sporting channels
• Former advisor to Tata Trusts towards development of sports initiatives acros India

ARATI PONNAPPA NATEKAR


• National Junior Singles Champion in all age groups (UN – 12,14,16,18).
• National Hard Court Ladies Tennis Champion in Singles and Doubles in 1996.
• National Grass Court Ladies Tennis Champion in Singles and Doubles in 1996.
• 4 Women Singles National Titles and 7 Doubles Women’s National titles
• 3 golds and 2 silvers at SAF games in 1991, 1993 and 1995
• Indian womens team for 7 years from 1991- 1997
• Represented India in the Federation Cup Tennis Competition for 4 years from 1992.
• Recipient of the Ekalavya Award for outstanding sportsperson of Karnataka in 1994-1995.
• Represented India in various International tennis tournaments for 7 years.
• Mentor and coach of current Junior Federation Cup team and junior Wimbledon Indian Team in 2017.

UDDHAV WELINKAR


• Is an M.Sc Sports Management from Loughborough University, UK, one of the best universities for sports management and sports sciences in the world.
• Has worked extensively in organising international sporting events held in India such as – XIX Commonwealth Games, New Delhi, 2010, III Lusofonia Games, Goa, 2014, III Commonwealth Youth Games, Pune, 2008 and the FIFA U17 World Cup, Kolkata, 2017.
• Was also part of the organising committee of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, Dubai 2013.
• Is a certified D Licence Football Coach from the All India Football Federation (AIFF).
• Over 5 years experience in developing turnkey sports infrastructure
